"A
WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR"
In June 1997 I decided to publish a Wargame Magazine in order to make
our newly formed Club, The North Down Warlords, become more widely known.
I realised that most Wargamers are a pathetic lot when it comes to getting
off their backsides and doing anything that was not of a direct benefit
to them, so I made ready about a dozen or so Articles prior to the first
Publication.
I reasoned that Mentioned In Despatches (M.I.D.) could be running for
about three Issues before I would need any more Articles. I rather naively
thought that other Gamers would support this project. In two years,
out of a total of forty three Articles, only eight were from other contributors.
I would like to thank these Famous Five for their time and effort.
Mentioned In Despatches will probably never be published again. However
I would appreciate any previously unpublished Articles for future on-line
publication.
The Web version will eventually consist of all the previous seven Issues
plus many new items. Once I figure out how to use my new Digital Camera
there should be lots of pictures to go with the Articles. I will try
to update the Website as regularly as I can. An Article from the original
printed M.I.Ds should appear online every two weeks. If the Site gets
too big to handle properly, I will remove the earliest published Articles.
The Contents Page is divided roughly into different Periods. Some are
very straightforward, others like the Napoleonic will cover Wars outside
the main Period description. (For Napoleonic, read Horse & Musket)

WHAT'S NEW.
This List will be updated every time a new Article appears. It will
be removed from this List after one month.
* Indicates that it will soon be made available or it is awaiting
a Map or Illustration.
Future Projects:
The Campaign Maps that were originally for my own Fantasy Campaign should
be available by the end of 2004. They will appear on the Rules Page
along with their cost.
All suggestions for Articles that you would like to see would be appreciated.
If anyone out there has an original Article that I could use, that too
would be appreciated. Send the Article to me as an attachment, floppy,
CD or typed. I currently have Articles in Word 2000, Works 4 and Acrobat
on my system. So far I have received only one e-mail reference the NDW
Site. Feel free to criticise, offer advice or even to heap praise. R
